Colour Migration occurs when you have a dark colour and light colour combined in a garment – like a stripe or contrast. The coloured fabric may begin to run whereby the garment is left wet for a duration of time, or it has not been lightly spun to remove excess water (not dried straight away – sitting wet in a washing machine or a bucket/wash basin).
The first thing to do if this ever happens to you, is to soak the item in a bucket of cold water WITH NOTHING ELSE and leave overnight minimum to 24 hrs. After this time you may wash the garment again and dry as normal. Generally this will remove all the migrated colour.
Please note: The use of any other stain removers or detergents to remove colour migration/runs, may set the colour making it almost impossible to remove at a later date.
