How to wash my WeatherBeeta Turnout Rug?

It is often advisable to take your Turnout Rugs (and Stable Rugs) to a professional rug cleaning service that has the specialist equipment required.

For turnout rugs that are mildly dirty at the end of the Winter season, hand washing will help to prolong the life of your Rug. Follow these simple steps:

1. Remove excess dirt.
2. Hand wash at a cool temperature using a non-biological soap (washing in high temperatures can damage the waterproof nature of the fabric).
3. Drip dry. Do not tumble dry.
4. Always store in a cool, dry place.

For those really dirty “mud pigs” that always manage to coat their rugs in mud, you can even wash your rug in a front loader washing machine. *Top loader washing machines are not recommended as the agitator can ruin the coating on the rug.

1. Remove all excess dirt, mud and hair from your rug using the process above
2. Place the rug in a mesh bag which contains all of the straps and buckles. This will help protect them from being damaged and help protect your washing machine.
3. Remove all detergent build up from your detergent dispenser
4. Machine wash your rug on a delicate cycle at 30° Celsius, using a mild soap or rug cleaning wash, such as Nikwax Rug Wash- always follow the manufacturers washing instructions.
5. Make sure to always line dry your WeatherBeeta rug - Do not tumble dry.
